My Trip to Canada

I have been accused of being a closet Canadian.  I think it started when I fell in love with hockey. Before you knew it I had memorized the Canadian National Anthem and was speaking with an accent, eh?

Both of my hockey trips included some skiing.  The stop in Vancouver was a one night stay on my way up to Whistler.  I enjoyed staying in Vancouver and was able to do some shopping.  Shopping is confusing in Canada.  The Canadian dollar was worth 70 cents, so it was like everything was on sale, but then you had to figure in Canadian sales tax, providence tax, and city tax.  When you leave Canada you can get back some of your GST, but only on certain purchases. Because I am from Oregon sales tax is foreign to me, but I managed to figure it out.
